INTRO
"Abstract expressionism is the term applied to new forms of abstract art
developed by American painters such as Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and
Willem de Kooning in the 1940s and 1950s, often characterised by
gestural brush-strokes or mark-making, and the impression of spontaneity"
"The abstract expressionists were mostly based in New York City, and also became known as the New York school.
The name evokes their aim to make art that while abstract was also
expressive or emotional in its effect. They were inspired by the surrealist idea that art should come from the unconscious mind, and by the automatism of artist Joan MirĂ³."

Abstraction is more than a visual style. It is a philosophy which applies to many levels of cognition and perception, arguably the focus Therefore the focus is on Psychology as much as it is to derive an emotional reaction in the observer. Emology.
At present the word Emology is new to our language. The only online resource available at present to define it gives as its definition the association with a specific millenial subculture emerging from the gathering Of Tribes era at the end of the 20th century. Emo culture is well defined; in America it routes from PunkRock, in Britain it routes from IndiePop movement. Emo is distinct from Goth, Metal, Punk and Rock although in the general banner it falls under the myriad of

Usually people majoring in this field will find emo hair very attractive and have the urge to pet it."
Alex: Whoa! Look at that guy's emo hair!!
Gracie: It's so pretty! We should pet it!
Karen: *runs up and asks if we can pet his hair*
Heather: *writes down in Emology book*

However, for the purposes of Academia and its involvement with the art world, also expanding beyond that, I intend to use the word Emology in a wider sense than does the subculture. Emology is knowledge of Emotional realms by the same rationale that Psychology is knowledge of the Psyche or Mental realms.
At this point it is also imperative to determine and differentiate between Psychic as in ESP abilities and Psychic as in 'of the mind'. These are two distinct arena's which very often cross over and for which the same word is used to describe both. As we are progressing into the 21st century it is logical to distinguish between these by the use of more appropriate terminology. Simply that we need to avoid confusion justifies this.
With chemical pharmacology funded State mental health paradigm being what it is (restrictive, limited and incorrect) and the social development of ever-increasingly public-about-their-abilities psychic human beings facing grotesque volumes of persecution and repression from so many directions, as even the official history books are still full of references to, development and use of a language which is not confusing is necessary.
With increase in awareness of Empathy (developing through CyberPunk into Post-CyberPunk era through the Philip K Dick inspired 1982 movie Blade Runner) such millennial terms as 'Telempathy' (telempathic empathy) coined to describe spiritual evolutions as a natural part of the Age of Aquarius consciousness into which we are now emerging.
This is relevant to Abstract Expressionism as a transensory visual art form:
"aim to make art that while abstract was also
expressive or emotional in its effect" (emology)
"art should come from the unconscious mind" (psychology)
art of telempathic consciousness
MAIN
Within abstract expressionism were two broad groupings:
"The action painters worked in a spontaneous improvisatory manner often using large
brushes to make sweeping gestural marks. The action painters
directly placed their inner impulses onto the canvas."
"The second grouping were deeply interested in religion and myth and created simple
compositions with large areas of a single colour intended to produce a
contemplative or meditational response in the viewer."
"In an essay
written in 1948 Barnett Newmann said: ‘Instead of making cathedrals out
of Christ, man, or ‘’life’’, we are making it out of ourselves, out of
our own feelings’.

Jungian Psychology with its embrace of
the Shadow Self and shamanic exploration of the Symbolic as portal from
both individual and the collective unconscious emerges into the Aquarian
21st century as reference to universal consciousness (telempathic
transition).
Abstract Expressionism is directly emotional rather than
visual symbolic. By this method it avoids the cognitive dissonance of
early 20th century philosopher-artists.
