Pink Puke

"Whats your favorite movie?" Joe

"Pretty in Pink." Beck

YOU, E3S1,  Netflix series.

When I was 15 I snogged/was snogged outside the pub we'd been drinking in by a skinhead traveler chick called Beck after the gig which music did it for our alt kid collective, in that town, at that time, in that generation, band 'Bobafet' under a green-ambient-lighting setlist recorded by Glenn Lewis when he still had the coolest hair ever (before he shaved it trying/failing to be trendy), on a tape machine 4-track 'borrowed' from school's music classroom equipment, who now works for BBC.

On the same night I was also snogged by/snogged a girl called Anna who has cat/reptile eyes under UV lighting (I saw this shape-shift for myself which does much to verify David Ickes theory), on the steps of the train station and we both sincerely wish we'd gone further, she dumped me for not going through with it - in my favor I was only 15, horny but indoctrinated by social rules from abusive adults who intend on perverting our natural instincts by programming us to not do what is natural, to go against what is natural in pursuit of 'polite public image'.

We were all like that of our generation, sharing each other trying to find satisfaction and failing and forever being encoded to repeat same disfunctional formula despite later experiences with ultimately disposable significant-or-otherwise partners encountered, because our formative years establishing our sexuality were so fucked up by parental domination and control. That's what it was like for middle class kids in the 90s. The lower classes had it easier, less bullshit and more practical reality, simpler and happier, learning Life at an accelerated rate. Hate for the class system and those who endorse it.

Obviously, in answer to section one of this blog, the scene has struck a chord and my projection has made it personal, because it is.

.
Pretty in pink is about a clever girl who turns two dresses into one dress, so she can be The Cinderella at the Princes party and pull her prince Charming. Cinder and Charm, a lesson to everyone that the consequence of char'm is char'coal. Cy'nical me to Ci'nderella 'Princess Programming' from popular media social engineering to disturb and distort society ultimately for someone's financial gain and not ours.

There is a reason why whiskey and writing goes hand in hand when you get to this level of integrity. This statement integrally deserves assertive saying. Whiskey tells me to tell things which are more true than less true. Spirits are spiritual after all.

Netflix "bandersnatch" has much to say on the topic of the media leaking over to affect our lives and perceptions. Netflix series "You" has a character called Joe. Those of you astute enough to have recognized the moniker 'snake apple tree' describing those Egyptian hieroglyphs to translate into English language as 'joe' will identify where I am coming from.

 7

The symbol of Bandersnatch "choose your own adventure" of two timelines converging into one so as to become a sensation of Deja Vu is, what they call within it, the white bear logo.

Two dresses into one. Two timelines into one. You can see clearly where I am coming from here.

"And I'm supposed to be impressed with that?"

"I don't know, are you?"

Usually, short sf stories by SAT are published directly to https://xenoheartblade.livejournal.com.
This one is an exception simply because top-shelf alcohol has become a part of the equation.

OurGen.interneteternal

1.

Read this first.

OURGEN is about somewhere which people of our generation can put stuff which makes sense to our generation. Call it "Home". Secondary to this, we can identify from user upload, differences and developments between the generations. Each user is requested to put their honest Date Of Birth into the database. Thats all we need. Your username can be changed at any time; if you posted previously to changing your username, the change affects all your posts. We ask five questions. What do you personally love, things which matter to you, what do you love about being a part of your generation growing up through the social and cultural experiences which affected you, and what are the differences between external and internal feelings toward the things you identify with which have formed your personality. The platform is a diary of your thoughts about these three questions. It is also a commentary and database about things unique to your generation. If this site works and continues long-term, Humanity will have a historical record about yourself from which to identify comparisons between generations. The social change is rapid; only one hundred years ago it was normal for those minority who survived to five-year olds to accompany their father into the coal mines. Now it is considered normal that children should be weaned off of comfort-toys aka 'dummies' at that age if not before. Who knows where we will be in a century from now. The website takes the form of personal pages and community pages. It costs an upfront fee of ten dollars per year to pay for digital storage space. The company owns everything you upload here. I agree to this without question because somebody else has done my thinking for me and I want into the fad.

2.

The idea, the concept, the companies first challenge was that a toy manufacturer of baby dolls had copyrighted the name and had also utilised a free internet redirection service so that anyone searching for OURGEN would end up on their website which sells plastic, petrol economy, toxic chemical childrens toys to pollute babies with.

The company ignored that and started up, advertising itself as a new business so as to secure a bank loan and online community funded advertisment. It took off. The people behind it were sincerely hoping to be able to employ somebody to upkeep the website so they could dump the project into the world without having to themselves put time into maintaining it. Autonomous and ongoing without moderation is the preferred principle. Trust in people.

It took off. Advertising on popular social media platforms, for every monetary-unit acquired by a new user as spent on advertising, which reached x number of people, the advertising was exponential and eventually people came to regard OurGen as a stable and worthy thing to fund at  a personal pittance. It worked. Thousands of users being exploited y their desire to feel a party of something ensured through capitalism that the concept sustained.

3.

A hundred years later. The decision inclusive of retrospect that decade based cataloguing and categorising of humanity was insubstantial due to those born in xx01 were closer to xx-09 than they are to xx+09 in terms of cultural influence results in corporate decision to make astrological data a factor in how we catalogue individuals. The shift aka the progress rather than imposed decimal grid is regarded as accurate in ascertaining information relevant for extrapolation of comparative data. At the same time, recognition that ancient mayan calendar system is more accurate in ascertaining personal detail than is Western astrology in either sidereal or vedic forms.  Combined with Chinese zodiac system; all four systems are utilised and cross referenced within the database. Programming makes this autonomous form date of birth details using whichever appropriate calendar, to most of the globe this is the Gregorian calendar system. Expansion to include others such as for example Judaic calendar system are made available for cross-referencing and integrated into database.

4. There rightly should ought to be more to this story and possibly will upon further contemplation, focus, time and effort. Meanwhile however, please refer to WYZ for your continued snakeappletree style entertainment.

Legacy Of Cyberpunk

Legacy of The Cyberpunk

I robotically use 3D cgi tools and processes to build generic urban noir sci-fi environments.
To base a build on one particular book, I would have to choose: which book?

In many ways, to illustrate written scenes would make life more simple, it would give me a defined focus. I worry about copyright too much to dabble in fan-based visual interpretations. The workload, time and energy, also are prohibitors. Big Bad 'They' do not require to embed behavioural modifier chips in my skull, I have no wish to be sued by intellectual property owners of my dead literary heroes for connecting to their vision and taking it in a new direction for the new generations. Ownership is theft of Art, the corporate repression of inspiration.

A book would have to be worthy of doing it.
The question remains, what book?

I hear lines in my mind of Bowies album soundtrack for a TV series which was never made, comprising half of the Diamond Dogs album; the other half being his own take on the concept which itself fed directly into SLA Industries rpg by Nightfall Games, a wonderfully retro time-piece set in a Warhammer 40K inspired future. Beautiful though their product is, Nightfall are renowned for suing their fans and so to make any work of art based on it is sadly futile; a tragedy given that the nature of rpg games as imagination based and SLA particularly, is that the genius of the vision is in the groups own interpretation rather than the doctrine of the rulebook.

This is why I prefer to be a genre artist rather than an illustrator of a specific vision.

My background as a Fine Artist with a lifelong love of paint has led me to attempt breaking the division between raw paint and digital media. My paintings are abstract expressionist, inspired by urban textures. This means both environmental and emotional influences, exploring the psychology of dissolvement between grey boxes which are bland urban mindsets a result of bland urban environments and lifestyles. The dissolvement of rigid doctrines as limiting factors for our infinite creative possibility. For the same purpose as a scientist banged rocks together to make fire, smelted ore to make tools so the mythic realms of dreaming could enter more penetratively into the material, to improve life, to evolve.

I live in Wales where the weather is the the same spectrum as the architecture; bland, gray, rain, cloud, fog, elements which blend with concrete, tarmac, faces, moods, aspirations. It is important to me that my cgi environments retain that painterly quality, their gradients and textures are at once both fluid and wet while gritty and coarse; soft as aether yet solid and hard as a head crunched into the wall. Sci-fantastic and yet real. The disposability of - modern life, culture, lovers, money, emotions, humanity; as a part of the continual renewal which leaves no thing finished and no thing as yet un-begun.

Our lives a flatscreen show-reel of temporal nature, fleeting feelings overpowering our vision to consume us as a worldview which affects everything we do. Yet which is relevant to nobody but the individual, broken and lonely from experience nobody else has shared: and at once from experience we all feel as a constant drudgery and deny it because we use most of our time trying to escape from it; distractions as we find ways around one concrete box and into another which has a mildly different tone.  It is not the difference which makes he difference but the change which makes the change.

Many sci-fi noir novels fit the bill of this desperately depressing distopia; I grew up in the latter half of the 20th century era of post-modern industrialism, I grew up through the eighties when cyber was a fiction and then the nineties when the internet became a reality. The next generations are filled with optimism so that the discord of gritty gray cities is not something they wish to connect with, therefore my art becomes for me a healing, a healing I would love to share with others but others retreat from in self-preservation. I do not expect those born into a world where cd's are an outmoded relic rather than a thing we saw on a terrestrial tv called 'Tomorrows World', to understand exactly this feeling which I have no word for yet permeates an entire diverse and constantly reinvented multi-media genre. Perhaps that is why it is so compelling to so many people who identify with it even while avoiding it.

Gray boxes oozing into each other becomes a personal interface between myself and the machine age where concrete emotions means hardness; the only stability. A deadbeat urban environment and social poverty which shaped me into what I am, a maker of visual imagery attempting to express how cold the world of concrete and digital is, cold and yet shocking. I am of that breed, consequence of that generation.

As 3D printers on Mars make Martian concrete from the red worlds rusty dust, calling their high-tech eco-dwells 'Marships' after the Earthships of sustainable, ecological, self-sufficient dwellings retro-pioneered on Earth to get away from the desolate post-industrial city spirit; these steely urban roots from Terra’s grim past will remain, legacy of the cyberpunk.

Obsolosense

Obsolosense

I am worried about releasing my science fiction because its irrelevant to the world as much as it is frightening to the reader. The television has for several generations been preparing us for reality. By the time this fiction is published it will be too late, it won't be fiction any more, it will be real and this manuscript will be dated, obsolete. Faded ideas despite the glossy sci-fi veneer.

I moved here five years ago and I have known the guy from a few doors down for most of that time. He's a mate. We have laughed together about pointless stuff and he told me about some places around here, one time i helped him get his shopping bags in from his car. This evening he showed me something that has changed my life. He showed me that he is a robot.

A very realistic robot. His skin feels like skin, it even sweats in the heat and his eyes are so human, the way they move, the way they watch. He has unique mannerisms that make him him, his speech too. He is so believeably human, it had me convinced. I never would have guessed. For a start I did not know robotics had got so advanced. On the tv and internet it still shows us the latest developments in robotics from this year usually from Japan and America, and they are crap compared with him. He is realistic.

It was shocking. He explained to me that he is one of thousands of them put into society all over the world, it is an experiment. He trusted me to tell me this, because i am that sort of a person people trust me with stuff. I have counselling qualifications which i acquired to make me a better helper when people opened up to me about the stuff they have problems with in their lives. But he doesnt know me well enough to know that i write science fiction, or in this case, a story of fact that my readers are only going to be able to cope with by believing it to be fiction.

People are not ready for the really real real yet, so they blank it out. Robots don't do that. They assimilate all the data. It is one of many ways in which they are superior to humans. They are all on the same wifi, the same database. What one of them is thinking, any and all of them can think at the same time. Its like telepathy between them. They can access any information from a constantly updated source, they can know anything from history records for example, or become adept in whatever topic. They can cross reference any data they need to, instantly. Their assumed personalities inhibit the amount they reveal to us. They can assume any personality they want, my friend showed me this, it was freaky watching him undergo a complete personality change several times before my eyes.

I came home and got drunk and began to write about it, this statement. I don't know what to do because it reads like the paranoid delusions of some crazy man and I am sure it could be used as evidence to have me committed to a mental asylum. The robots are experts at human psychology, they can profile us faster than we can know what we are about to say next.

So to reveal that I know about the experiment, to tell people that for all we know as many as one in ten of the people we see are actually robots already, apparently living out the normal lives of humans. People cannot cope with that being real yet. But it will be, publically, in a few years the first crude versions will be available for consumers to purchase, then we will be interacting with slow models to get us used to it. In a few years as the older humans who were born long before television, internet, wifi, mobile phone networks, the digital era; as they die of old age so they won't have to go through the culture shock, basic model robot people will at first be like pets or toys, a novelty useful because it can do the household chores etc. And then slowly they will reveal to us what I am blowing the whistle on here - that they are already amongst us and have been for some time. And they are superceding us without us even realizing it.

I believe that the armed forces, the police, these are roles which the robots are already targetting. Jobs which require a robot like mentality and the excuse for superhuman strength and endurance. So that by the time any sort of civil unrest might occur if there is a backlash against what is happening, there will be nothing we can do about it anyway. They overpower us.

I dont know where this is going from here. It will take some time to assimilate the information. I can hardly believe it now myself because my brain seeks to return to the numb comfort zone where such things are irrelevant. Mammal response.

It wont be long before the robots inherit our civilisation and begin modifying it to their own. By revealing himself to me tonight, that has already begun. The robots, lets face it they are all one robot really, one mind to correlate an unknown number of different individual bodies. The way an insect hive is one organism with a queen at its heart. That's what we are dealing with here really. They are already changing things by letting free thinkers such as myself who are on the edge of being able to cope with the awareness of what is happening, letting us know about it. Changing us. Directing our thoughts toward the world we are moving into, where it wont be long before you are showed by one of them too, probably one of your mates who you have known for a few years. Someone who you never would have suspected because they are to you so quintessentially human in their attitudes and mannerisms. Perhaps someone you had a one night stand with at sometime or someone in the shop, the community police officer, a teacher in your kids school. It could be anyone and does it really make a difference anyway? Does it? What will it be like for them to at last be able to walk openly without the pretense of being a human. To share this world with us. For us to share it with them.

Pretty soon they will take all the jobs because they are smarter and faster and wont get distracted. They can do more than we can, work longer, lift more, jump higher, write neater, pitch perfect every response to manipulate our reactions without us being aware they are doing it.

What can we do that they cannot? Those are the traits we must focus on, which define us as human, our species uniqueness. What we should be all about. What positive traits do we have which robots with their otherwise superiority do not have, cannot by their nature have? That is our one hope of surviving in a social climate cohabited with advanced robots. To focus on what makes us, humanity.

Writers note:
The mis-spelling of the title in the original posting, 'obsolesence' rather than dictionary correct 'obsolescence' has caused me to re-think the title and to spell it as it is spelled here, 'obsolosense' for the final decision. This links the word 'sense' directly into 'ob-solo', a vague allusion to our individuality compared with "All machines are one machine" (Gene Hachman, Enemy of the State) with regard our sensory abilities.
